The International Relations Council’s Global Honors Evening returned to our program calendar in 2024 after a five year absence, as we celebrated individuals who have made deeply meaningful contributions to the international community on a national scale, as well as our community right here in Kansas City. We are thrilled to be bringing this program back to the Kansas City Art Institute in 2025!
Since 1984, the International Relations Council has held its Global Honors Evening to recognize individuals and organizations for contributions to foreign policy and global affairs, international commerce, or the Kansas City community. In 2025, we are pleased to be bringing this historic IRC event back, to celebrate a range of individuals and groups that make Kansas City a shining global community. The celebration will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dessert, special recognitions, and the chance to meet some of Kansas City's most notable and beloved global citizens. This year’s Global Honors Evening will recognize efforts and achievement of a selection of distinguished guests and awardees under the theme of “redefining a global Kansas City”.
Since the first Global Honors Evening in 1984, this event has recognized and spotlighted individuals and organizations which have made distinguished contributions to the field of international affairs, global economics, or towards making Kansas City a globally minded community. We will be conferring three awards: the Distinguished Service Award for International Statesmanship, the Award for Contributions to the Community, and the Award for Academic Leadership.
